The CH 1 NIP (Normal Incidence Pyrheliometer) is designed for measuring unattended normal incidence of direct solar radiation. CH 1 measurements the total solar spectrum between 200 to 4000 nm which is allowed to transmit through the attached quartz window.

The CH 1 measures solar irradiance (radiant flux, Watt/m©÷) on a plane surface at right angle to the solar beam.
